Shari
worked with the Vallejo City Attorney’s
office then established a non-profit legal clinic
with offices in Vallejo and Fairfield to serve
the legal needs of those for whom the cost of
conventional legal services was out of reach.
The clinic also received a grant from the Area
Agency on Aging to provide legal services to
senior citizens of Solano and Napa counties. When
Shari left the legal clinic, she purchased 40
remote acres in Lassen County, built a rough
and rustic cabin without water or electricity
and lived there for four years while practicing
law out of a Main Street storefront office in
Fall River Mills, CA. Following that, Shari
was the Modoc County Public Defender for four
years. For the next twelve years she was deputy
public defender in the desert area of Riverside
County, California. She retired late in 1999,
moved to Cibola, Arizona, became a certified
pilot car driver, and spent the next four years
escorting oversize loads from coast to coast.
Family concerns brought Shari to Nevada City
in 2003, where her parent’s had moved
in 1971. So, while a new resident, Shari is
well acquainted with the area. Since taking
up residence here she has been active in various
volunteer activities, and is a member of the
Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue
team with training in ground search, incident
command and crisis intervention.
Shari brings to the office a solid business
background, legal expertise, and a keen sense
of adventure.
