Born and raised in the East Bay, and after serving his country in the U.S. Navy, Wayne worked for Standard Brands Paint Company as an Assistant Store Manager in the Bay Area and Sacramento, CA. Looking for a home close to the ski slopes brought him to the Gold country in 1980 to raise his family. He and his wife designed their home, drawing on his home decorating talent to add the finishing touches themselves. Following a family tradition, he then went to work for Orowheat Baking Company

as a route sales drive for the next 20 years. His friendly manner and the excellent sales skills garnered Wayne the top route in Northern California. His route allowed him the time to coach baseball for Grass Valley Little League and basketball at Mount Saint Mary’s School where he brought county championships home for both the girls and boys teams. Having two youngsters at the right age at the right time, he also dove into the soccer scene on the ground floor of the Gold Country Soccer League and became a Project Leader for Peardale Pines 4-H.
As the kids grew and looking for something new to do with his spare time, Wayne and a partner opened a new business, the Camper Connection, here in Grass Valley. After a successful few years and wanting a change of pace, he sold his interests and took up a new hobby – sailing. Getting involved with the local yacht club, he spent two years at the helm and now serves on the Board of Directors and several committees for the BCYC.
Wayne brings a keen eye for value as well as a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to this recent career move.
