A planned two day visit to see my sister on the Mendocino Coast in the summer of 1973 was extended to 44 years. Then in April of 2017, I relocated to my new wife’s home in Grass Valley and spent most of my first year here remodeling, redecorating and landscaping our home.
My career in real estate, specializing in the sale of farms, ranches and redwood timberland began in 1980 including 22 years as owner/broker of my own firm. My daughter who is the current president of the Coastal Mendocino Association of Realtors managed my firm for the most recent couple of years before closing our office in April 2018.
During my time on the coast I was a director of the local Realtor association for many years and was president in 1986. I was very active in moving the Mendocino Land Trust from kitchen table meetings to a fully staffed office with a large range of accomplished conservation projects including adding 7000 acres to the Mendocino Headlands State Park during my 8 years as president of the organization.
My hobbies include raising flowers and riding fine quarter horses on multiple day backcountry trips in the mountains. I am a volunteer docent at the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum in Nevada City.
